Ava's First Trip to Disneyland

Todd's firm had an event last week where we got tickets for the family to go to Twilight Hours at Disneyland. It was Ava's first trip there and she was pretty overwhelmed.  She enjoyed the "Teacups" and "It's a Small World". We took her on "Pirates of the Caribbean" and afterwards she said, "No likey!"

The firm arranged a 6 course meal at a restaurant called "Naples" in Downtown Disney. Our family made it through 2 courses and had to leave.  We couldn't keep the kids (Dallin and Ava) happy through 6 courses- mostly full of food neither one of them could eat. Who could?!

As I saw the crazy summer crowds I thought to myself, "I really hate this, I am only doing this for the kids!" Chloe was terrified half of the time and kept telling everyone on all the rides she went on about the Disneyland trivia she had memorized.  Dallin was an angel, LOVES Disneyland and doesn't even freak out with the thousands of people making their way down Mainstreet after a parade. It was great to not have any meltdowns! Maya wasn't afraid of anything this time (except she did refuse to go on Star Tours but I'll let that one slide).

It was nice to spend some time with Todd who has been really busy this summer preparing for a trial that starts in one week. Here are some photos of the day:

Blogging Regrets

I can't believe I let a whole 3 months lapse since my last post. We moved into a new rental place in Woodbridge (31 Soaring Hawk). We wanted to buy a home but just couldn't find the right match. We felt like renting this place was the right move for our family and we really like it but it has been difficult settling in. This home needs A LOT of repairwork done. We had mold remediation done that put us out of the house for two weeks. We have taken care of the yard (which was really neglected), had the main sewage line back up into the bathtubs (yuck!), electrical problems, sprinkler problems, etc. Recently a chunk of the counter fell off onto my foot and that needs to be repaired now. So, I have taken to instagram for quick journaling and have neglected my blog.

However, I taught a lesson today on the importance of keeping a journal and know I need to do a better job writing mine. This blog is my family's journal and I am ready to write again.  I am not going to try and catch up on all of the lost time, that will make me crazy.
